Les Monts d'Argent, was the name of Peisey in the XVIIIth century, it reflects the importance of the lead and silver mines.
During the first empire, from 1802 to 1814, th French school of Mines settled down in Peisey. The "Palais de la Mine" is a big house located at the end of a beautiful valley.
Guided tour on wednesday. Individual or familiar.
Special children tour "les petits mineurs" on thursday : geology initiation, discovery of the miners life, their work. In summer only.
