New features and beginners' areas in the PEISEY-VALLANDRY / LES ARCS ski area :
VALLANDRY, THE NEW MUST-SEE AREA OF THE DOMAIN

The ski area has the ambition to offer a new experience in the heart of the slopes. A large-scale project that skiers and pedestrians will be able to discover from December 2021. By creating a real multi-faceted place to live at altitude, this project is fully in line with the diversification of the Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry ski area.

ACCESS TO 2,138 M ALTITUDE IN ONLY 6 MINUTES

The replacement of the Vallandry chairlift by a new 10-seater gondola lift with all the comforts of home will link the snow front to a new living area in just a few minutes. Once at the top, beginners can learn to enjoy skiing in complete safety in a new dedicated area.
This area consists of a "First glides" zone and a "First turns" zone with a ski lift. It is also possible to make "First descents" on the scenic trail of the Forêt des Pitchouns.
While the gondola provides access to numerous ski slopes in winter, pedestrians and mountain bikers can also take advantage of routes dedicated to the summer season.

A RELAXATION AREA HIGHLIGHTING THE LOCAL HERITAGE
Designed to offer skiers and pedestrians a contemplative moment on its panoramic terrace, the relaxation area also welcomes visitors for a break. This place, which combines noble and elegant materials, has been designed for restoring strength or eating.
It also highlights the local heritage, thanks to the exhibition of traditional objects from the culture of Peisey-Vallandry, or the presentation of herbarium plates from the local flora.

 A MODEL INSTALLATION

Photovoltaic panels have been installed on the roof of the gondola's arrival point in order to continue the development of renewable energy production on the estate.
Also, a system for recovering heat from the machinery is planned in order to reuse it within the installation. Rainwater is also recovered and redistributed for the non-drinking water needs of the site.

REBIRTH OF A MYTHICAL PLACE FOR A NEW ACTIVITY: THE TYROLIENNE DES ARCS.

This project highlights an emblematic place in the history of Les Arcs. Indeed, the Les Arcs zip line flies over the track that hosted the demonstration discipline of the kilometre launched during the 1992 Albertville Olympics.

It is an opportunity for pedestrians and skiers alike to share in the dizzying sensations, in duo or solo, winter or summer. Included in the Essential and Premium Passes, this activity is easy to access.

This descent at 130 km/h pushes everyone's limits... to experience a unique moment. And to immortalise this moment, a souvenir photo awaits participants at the bottom of the zip line.

Those accompanying them can watch the most daring from the panoramic terrace. This is also an opportunity to learn more about the surrounding peaks, thanks to an orientation table provided for them.

A PLAYFUL IMMERSION IN THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE HIGH MOUNTAINS

Before boarding the Aiguille Rouge cable car, the ski area has created an educational trail on the theme of mountain fauna to present local animal species.
Visitors will discover a new giant sculpture in the waiting area of the cable car. A big surprise for all to enjoy.

Then the environmental awareness trail begins.
Once you have boarded the Aiguille Rouge cable car, head for La Passerelle. Accessible on foot or on skis, it overlooks the Hauts de Villaroger Reserve and the Vanoise National Park, revealing a 360° panorama of the Alps.

This "lesson in things" is a real immersion in the understanding of the local biodiversity.
