Thursday 11 July - Vallée des Chapieux and Ville des Glaciers walk
Meeting point at 9.30 am at the funicular arrival point in Bourg Saint Maurice, in front of the Intersport shop.
(At the departure point in Bourg Saint Maurice, we will organise car sharing to optimise the number of vehicles travelling to the start of the walk).
During this walk, our mountain guide, Antoine, will share his knowledge of this valley in contact with the Mont Blanc massif, at the foot of the Aiguille des Glaciers.
The valley is typically Alpine in terms of its altitude, flora and fauna.
It is also a key crossing point between Italy and France, thanks to the presence of the Col de la Seigne pass, and has a rich history thanks to its military past.
Life in the mountain pastures is very much alive, with herds of cows, goats and sheep.
On arrival at Les Chapieux at 10 am., departure for the 4-hour walk, with Antoine DEZE, "Les Balades du Colporteur" mountain guide.
At 12:30, we will enjoy a picnic lunch from your bag, at the Ville des Glaciers.
Then back to the village of Les Chapieux at the end of the afternoon, around 5pm.
PLACES ARE LIMITED.
FREE REGISTRATION MANDATORY by Tuesday 9 July at 6pm at the latest.
OUR ADVICE:
- Be in good physical condition: 10 km walk with 4 hours of actual walking.
(350m ascent and 350m descent).
