A little-used pastoral track which bypasses Peisey by the bottom, rather fresh. Old access roads to the most "industrial" village (mills, forges, anthracite mines) in the valley.
Start from the smallest car park in Moulin, route des Mouilles.
A short descent to a peat bog. Then turn right onto the road that runs flat to the Tachonière. Remarkable point: the enormous erratic block (put there by a glacier) of the Tachonière. (A tachon: old name for the badger) Walk around the big boulder: Sainte Barbe oratory (installed in 1962), patron saint of miners. Cross the road, which is a bit tricky because of the poor visibility: go up the road for 20 metres and cross it: continue along the path up to Villaret, at the lowest point of the village, where the old tanneries used to be.
The return is done by going up the village of Villaret to the chapel St Pierre and taking the GR5 to Moulin, crossing all Peisey.
If you want to do only the completely flat part (pushchair or big senior), you can park at La Tachonière upstream of the communal garages and head south to Moulin and back.
This loop can of course be done in the other direction!
