After its superb restoration, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris appeared as good as new, despite being over 860 years old and undergoing numerous transformations. It did not escape the turmoil of the Revolution and had to wait for the 19th-century renovations by Viollet-le-Duc to regain its former grandeur, and even more.

It has thus become an emblematic site in French history, whose long history you will rediscover during this lecture presented by Geneviève Gaufillet-Baudin.
