The Apple Peak: A Race to the Summit - April 20, 2025

A team, one goal only: to reach the summit of the Vallandry gondola via a trail segment and a ski touring segment, being the fastest!

THE COURSE

🏁Start Landry (16:30) - Trail segment (750m elevation gain / 3.5 km)
🍎Relay point at Vallandry snow front
🚩Ski touring segment - Aigle slope (600m elevation gain / 2.5km)
🏁Finish at the top of Vallandry gondola

WHY JOIN THIS RELAY RACE?

If VO2 Max, aerobic, lactic acid are no secrets to you, if your trail shoes are an extension of yourself, if ski touring conversions are your favourite playground and you never leave without your soft-shell, then Apple Peak is your next relay sports challenge to discover Peisey-Vallandry in the ~~light~~ sweat of a late spring day!

THE WINNING RELAY

So find your teammate ( avoid the goat, aim for a partner who climbs like a mountain goat) and join all the champions and amateur athletes of the Tarentaise for a unique relay race!
It's up to you to break the record, avoid being caught up, and aim for a podium spot!

Practical Information

To register, follow this link: registration link or visit our Tourist Offices.

Registrations open on Thursday, 27/02 at 12 PM.

Price: €40 per duo (trailer / ski mountaineer), which includes the race bib, a finisher gift, refreshment stations, access to the Vallandry gondola for participants and spectators, as well as event activities and the concert.

On-site registration is possible on race day at the starting point in Landry, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM (payment in cash or check only). Note: Prices will increase for on-the-day registrations, rising to €50 per duo instead of €40.

📍 Start: Landry – Trail race on the GR5 up to the Vallandry snow front.

🔁 Relay: Handover to skiers.

🎿 Ascent: Ski touring up to the top of the Vallandry gondola via the Aigle slope.

🏁 4:30 PM: Trail runners start from Landry.

🎿 5:00-6:00 PM: Skiers' relay for the ski touring ascent.

🚩 7:30 PM: Arrival at the top of the Vallandry gondola (spectators can take the gondola up).

⬇️ Descent: Safe gondola descent for all (participants and spectators).

🏆 8:00 PM: Awards ceremony and concert until 10:00 PM on the snow front 🎶
