WHAT'S NEW IN THE MOUNTAIN AREA

A NEW ERA FOR TRANSARC

The Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry Mountain Resort sees the revival of the iconic connection between Arc 1800 and the summits this winter. The transformation of Transarc, which began in December 2023, is now complete, offering a renewed and improved experience for visitors.

REIMAGINED AND HIGH-PERFORMANCE CABINS

The new Transarc, a complete transformation :

  • Larger cabins : 10 seats, enhancing passenger comfort.
  • Accelerated ascent : journey time reduced by half (summit access in 13 minutes instead of 20 minutes).
  • Energy efficiency : the new installations are designed for lower electricity consumption, meeting current ecological standards.

A 360° panorama at the summit and a mineral gallery halfway with an exhibition of fine specimens. The transformation of Transarc marks the beginning of a new era for the Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry Mountain Resort, combining modernity and efficiency for an unparalleled experience.

THE MINIS SLOPE: WAKING UP THE LITTLE CREATURES

NEW: THE MINIS SLOPE

This winter, visitors and skiers will be delighted to discover an intriguing new feature on the famous cabin slope. It now has a new name: the Minis Slope. Upon arriving at the top of the Villards cable car, beginner skiers and nature enthusiasts will be immersed in the fascinating world of little creatures. They will explore the superpowers of insects, such as discovering the dragonfly, which can fly backward, and learning about the muscles of the ant, which can lift up to 50 times its own weight.

Although the green slope remains unchanged, new modules will be installed to provide an enjoyable and educational experience on the incredible feats of these tiny creatures around us. A fascinating adventure awaits on the Minis Slope!

MEETING THE MICROFAUNA

Along the slope, young and old can glide and encounter various insects and a giant ant. Little huts dot the course, offering a playful break for the comfort of visitors.

This course showcases a selection of species representative of the different natural environments of the mountain. By exploring the life of insects, butterflies, and arachnids, visitors discover the richness of mountain biodiversity, beyond the iconic large animals. This playful approach helps raise awareness about the importance of protecting and preserving this precious ecosystem.

3 PROGRESSION COURSES

The mountain resort offers three secure progression courses suitable for beginners, marked by green flags. These courses, spread across Arc 1800, Arc 2000, and Peisey-Vallandry, allow skiers to progress step by step while respecting the principle of gradual learning.

THE GIANTS OF MALGOVERT, THE FOREST PROTECTORS

The forest holds fascinating secrets, revealed through the twists of the Mont-Blanc slope (Arc 1600). Inspired by the richness of the forest habitat, a new awareness space features the three great wooden giants that stand in the playground. Whether in winter or summer, explorers are invited to discover the many facets of this fascinating ecosystem and to become a forest protector, aware of the vital importance of forests and the creatures that live within them.

Designed and created in close collaboration with the Vanoise National Park, this museum is also a place for educational encounters with experts from the Park.

THE VARET GLACIER EXHIBITION

At the summit of the Varet cable car, a new space has been unveiled dedicated to raising awareness about glaciers. A place to learn more about the glacier that bears this name and to awaken skiers to the glaciers that surround them. An exhibition to become aware of the evolution of the Varet glacier over time and the challenges linked to its existence. This installation blends with the architecture of the location and the natural environment, inviting a pause. A suspended moment aimed at educating, inspiring, and encouraging reflection on our shared responsibility towards nature.
