NEW: we are proud to be B corp certified!™

THE LES ARCS / PEISEY-VALLANDRY MOUNTAIN RESORT OBTAINS B CORP™ CERTIFICATION

We thus become the first Mountain Estate manager in Europe to join the B Corp™ movement, the global community of committed companies meeting the highest standards in terms of social and environmental performance.

This nationwide recognition is the result of a number of initiatives carried out jointly with the elected representatives of the local authorities responsible for this area, as well as the practical deployment of initiatives undertaken by Compagnie des Alpes - of which our ADS company is an integral part - and now included in the Group's Raison d'Etre implementation guidelines.

UNDERSTANDING MOVEMENT B CORP™

B Corp™ is both one of the most demanding international environmental and social certifications, and also a movement of companies acting to have a positive impact on the world.

It is conditional on compliance with strict criteria in five areas: governance, employees, community, environment and customers.

Today, 300 companies are B Corp™ certified in France, and more than 7,000 worldwide. They include Patagonia, Nature & Découvertes, Naturalia, Picture, etc.

While obtaining the B Corp™ label is based on the principle of the "Business Impact Assessment" (BIA) measuring all of the company's impacts, certain actions provide a better understanding of the involvement of the teams in the mountain area to achieve this.

RAISING THE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS OF OUR VISITORS AND EMPLOYEES

Raising awareness of environmental issues among our visitors, residents and employees

Above all, we have relied on a unique collective: La Ruche, made up of 100 committed employees who, for more than 4 years, have been initiating, implementing and involving company staff in actions aimed at accelerating the environmental transformation of the Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry Mountain Estate.

To our credit: revegetation of areas of the Domaine with the planting of 900 trees by 2023, rehabilitation of several wetlands, waste collection action days, organisation of the Fresque du Climat, etc.

Another emblematic achievement that we are promoting to customers and residents alike is the creation of the Mountain Animal Museum in 2021, in collaboration with the Vanoise National Park. The aim of this freely accessible museum is to showcase mountain flora and fauna, while raising visitors' awareness of the need to protect them.

REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

We are focusing on two key levers to achieve our net zero carbon objective by 2030.

On the one hand, we are taking action on internal mobility, with the widespread use of the HVO 100 fuel favoured by the Group for all snow groomers, which has enabled the Domaine de Montagne Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry to cut CO2 emissions from grooming and company vehicles by more than 80%.

We are also making an active contribution to the transition in mobility called for by the region's elected representatives, in particular by using the funicular railway. This link between the valley and the high-altitude sites is a soft mobility tool that meets the ambition of offering a car-free, 100% pedestrian journey from its point of departure. The Domaine de Montagne is contributing to this strong desire on the part of the region by offering free access to the funicular to all visitors arriving by train.

OUR INVOLVEMENT IN THE LOCAL ECONOMY

At the heart of a region where the economy is closely linked to tourism, our first priority is to be an exemplary and responsible employer for our 550 employees, but we are also keen to play our role as a driving force in the region, with almost 2,500 indirect jobs in the four towns on the estate (Bourg Saint Maurice - Les Arcs, Landry, Peisey-Nancroix and Villaroger).

We have also introduced a new responsible purchasing policy that focuses on the environmental impact of our suppliers, enabling us to make almost 90% of our purchases in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.

This B Corp certification that honours us is therefore both a recognition of our ongoing commitment to work collectively for the same vision, and an ongoing challenge that encourages us to surpass ourselves to increase our positive contribution to the world around us.

"The B Corp™ certification process is carried out according to a rigorous, independent assessment of each applicant company's impact on humans and the planet. Everything from our carbon footprint to the care we take of our people is examined. B Corp certification is conditional on compliance with strict criteria in five areas: governance, employees, community, environment and customers. In addition, given that certification is renewed every 3 years, our company will continue to invest in improvements in order to increase its social and environmental commitment over the years. It's a concrete step, and we're taking action for the present and the future.
