Peisey-Vallandry is one of the most convenient ski resorts to reach from the UK by train, located just 20 minutes from Landry railway station.

If you are looking for a relaxing, low-carbon journey to the Alps, Peisey-Vallandry is easy to reach.

From the UK, you can travel by train to Landry station via Lille, Paris or Brussels.

Rail travel makes the journey part of the holiday. There’s space to relax with friends and family as the scenery glides by, on-board catering, and time to finish that book or get work done. Rail travel also produces a fraction of the carbon emissions and pollution of flying or driving. With so many rail options between London St Pancras and Landry, Peisey-Vallandry is an excellent destination by train.

Travel options

There are many rail-travel options from the UK to Peisey-Vallandry. You can travel by daytime, overnight or stopover en route.

🚆 Option 1

Eurostar Snow

The most direct service from the United Kingdom to Peisey-Vallandry is the Eurostar Snow.

  • Departure: London St Pancras (Saturday morning) → Lille-Europe
  • Connection: another Eurostar (continental) → Landry
  • Return: from Landry (Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Also available as a direct service Brussels → Landry (Saturday, return the following Saturday)
🔁 Option 2

Eurostar + TGV

Combine Eurostar and TGV via Paris or Lille.

  • Via Paris: London → Paris Gare du Nord → transfer to Gare de Lyon → TGV to Landry. (transfer guide)
  • Via Lille: London → Lille-Europe → TGV to Lyon-Part-Dieu → TER to Landry.
  • During peak periods: very early departures from Lille-Europe → Landry (direct on certain days)
🌙 Option 3

Stopover in Paris, Lille or Brussels

Leaving the day before allows you to spend a night in Paris, Lille or Brussels and access a wider choice of trains.

  • Earlier arrival on the first day of your holiday
  • More choice of departure times
  • Sometimes better fares (which can offset hotel costs)
 

Changing stations in Paris

Some journeys require a change of station in Paris, but this isn’t difficult. You can make the transfer by Métro, RER, a taxi from the taxi rank or a pre-booked taxi.

What’s the rail experience like?

On high-speed services such as Eurostar and TGV trains, you’ll have plenty of space to relax and stretch your legs.
On-board bars serve hot and cold food and drink as the mountains grow and you speed towards the snow.
There’s Wi-Fi on board, and friends and families can book table seats to make space for games and activities.

Transferring from Landry station to Peisey-Vallandry

When you arrive at Landry station, transferring to Peisey-Vallandry is simple. The bus station is located right beside the train station, and you can book bus transfers on the Altibus website.

Several taxi companies operate in Peisey-Vallandry and can take you from Landry station to your accommodation.

Meet at Chez Po

If there’s time between your train and your transfer, Landry station has an excellent seasonal café called Chez Po. It serves hot and cold drinks and food, and has indoor seating.

It’s open from 20 December 2025 to 26 April 2026. Thursdays and Fridays 09:00 – 17:00; Saturdays 06:00 – 18:00; Sundays 07:00 –17:00.
