Focus on the Vanoise National Park

A preserved gem at the gateway to Peisey-Vallandry

A pioneer in the protection of ibex for over 60 years, the Vanoise National Park is a true natural sanctuary. Its mission: to protect flora and fauna, preserve its magnificent landscapes and safeguard the diversity of alpine ecosystems.

Breathtaking landscapes

From the Rosuel valley, the gateway to the park, set off to discover some iconic sites:

  • Mont Pourri and its glaciers
  • Lac de la Plagne, a veritable mirror at altitude
  • La Grande Casse, the iconic peak of the Vanoise
  • Waterfalls, mountain pastures and panoramic trails

Exceptional flora and fauna

In the heart of the Vanoise National Park, ibex, chamois, mountain hares and marmots share the mountain pastures with rare bird species such as the bearded vulture, golden eagle and rock ptarmigan. The equally remarkable flora can be seen along the trails: edelweiss, gentians and rhododendrons colour the high-altitude landscapes and remind us of the fragile richness of this preserved ecosystem.
