With nearly 450 km of marked trails and a GR5 long-distance trail, it's impossible to get lost.

HIKING & WALKING IDEAS

  • Le Long du Torrent (Easy):
    A pleasant route dotted with educational markers that allow you to discover nature as you walk. This path crosses an exceptional natural environment, ideal for a family walk.
     
  • La Cascade du Nant Putor (Moderate):
    This route offers a commanding view of the entire Rosuel valley and a refreshing atmosphere in the height of summer. There is a slight incline, and on the very sunny slope, it is important to stay well hydrated. The trail also includes a ford for added adventure.
     
  • Lac de la Plagne (Difficult):
    Starting from the Rosuel refuge, follow the GR5 trail for most of the way to reach a viewing platform offering spectacular views of magnificent waterfalls. The route crosses a larch forest and offers a unique panorama. Near the lake, numerous marmots await you.

Must-see attractions

  • Vallandry Panoramic Terrace (2,130 m): perched opposite Mont Blanc, this oxygen-filled terrace is equipped with deckchairs, a swing and picnic tables. Enjoy a snack and extend your break with a visit to the Mountain Animal Museum or the start of the Sentier de l'Homme-Cairn trail.
     
  • Disc Golf: from 30 June to 5 November, immerse yourself in a 6-hole UDisc-certified course, specially designed for high altitude. Between drives, putts and ‘birdie’ or ‘ace’ challenges, this fun, accessible and 100% free sport can be discovered through introductory sessions throughout the season. Discs are available to borrow from the Tourist Office so you can get started without any hassle.
     
  • The Mountain Animal Museum: covering 120 m², it presents more than thirty alpine species — ibex, chamois, ptarmigan — in a setting combining a cabinet of curiosities and local works of art, for a fun and educational immersion into the heart of the Vanoise's wildlife.
     
  • Homme-Cairn Trail (1.6 km / 30 mins): accessible from the top of the Vallandry cable car or via Transarc, this walk invites young and old alike to follow in the footsteps of a lost civilisation: stone sculptures defying the laws of nature, enigmatic engravings and marine remains. Throughout the interactive trail, take part in building a cairn or stone arch, or try out a Japanese stepping stone path for a fun immersion in the history of the mountains.
