The forests of Peisey-Vallandry are a safe haven when the forecast calls for a "whiteout day". In thick fog, when you can’t see past the tips of your skis, the wooded areas provide much better visibility. Among larches, Swiss pines and fir trees, the terrain becomes easier to read and natural contrasts make skiing easier and safer.

These forests cover a large part of the ski area and play an important role: they stabilise the slopes, protect against the wind and shelter a rich Alpine biodiversity. For skiers and snowboarders, they offer a more readable and safer environment when the upper slopes disappear into a complete whiteout.

• Forêt Run – Blue
One of the most iconic descents in Peisey-Vallandry. Wide, accessible and perfectly set among the fir trees, it offers smooth, scenic skiing. Ideal for enjoying gentle turns while being fully immersed in the forest atmosphere.

• Rhodos Run – Blue
A lovely blue run winding through the forest, perfect for linking turns in a peaceful setting. Rhodos is often described as one of the most enjoyable runs in the area, thanks to its balanced layout and the soft light filtering through the trees.

• Aigle Run – Red
For those who enjoy a more challenging ride, the Aigle run offers a beautiful red descent through the forest. With its playful terrain, natural flow and cosy woodland feel, it’s a favourite with advanced skiers looking for rhythm and beautiful lines between the trees.

Spotlight: The Pitchouns Forest

The very first playground for young skiers… right in the forest!

The Pitchouns Forest is an area specially designed for beginners and families, right in the heart of the fir trees of Peisey-Vallandry. It is a unique place where learning to ski happens gently, in a safe and fun environment.
In this sheltered area, children and first-time skiers enjoy a very gentle slope, perfectly suited to building confidence, discovering their first skiing sensations and having fun in complete peace of mind.
