The 10 rules of skiing!
Don't know them yet? Now's the time to brush up!
Before you hit the slopes of the Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry ski area, take a look at these essential rules for skiing safely.

Anticipate your changes of direction and look far ahead to adapt your line.

Even if you’re an excellent skier, moderate your speed according to visibility and snow conditions. Be extra cautious in caution zones where skiers of all levels are present.

The downhill skier (below you) cannot see you: they have right of way because they don’t have visibility behind them.

Keep a safe distance when overtaking other skiers. Be especially careful with children, who may change direction without warning.

As with road rules, the skier entering the piste must make sure the way is clear.

After a fall on the slope, move quickly to the side so you don’t obstruct other skiers and to keep yourself safe.

After a fall, when retrieving your equipment, stay clearly visible and at the edge of the piste. If you need to walk down, keep to the side of the slope.

Signage adapted to each hazard is installed by ski patrol. Follow the posted instructions for your safety.
