Come explore the valley with our donkeys! With family or friends, enjoy self-guided hikes along marked trails suitable for all skill levels. Our donkeys can carry your children (depending on their age and weight) as well as your backpacks, making for a more comfortable hike.
Before each hike, we’ll show you how to lead your donkey and walk you through the chosen route.

Hikes ranging from 1.5 to 4 hours—several trails are available starting from the hamlet of Les Lanches:
- Blue Trail – 1 hour 30 minutes (easy): Les Lanches > La Culaz
- Orange Trail – 2 hours 30 minutes (easy): Les Lanches > La Gurraz
- Yellow Trail – 2 hours 30 minutes (moderate): Les Lanches > L’Épinerie
- Picnic Trail – 4 hours
- Les Esserts Trail – 4 hours (easy)
- Discovery Trail – 4 hours (moderate)

2- to 6-Day Hikes with Overnight Stays in Mountain Huts
For experienced hikers, we offer multi-day hikes with overnight stays in mountain huts. Our donkeys will carry your packs and can also transport your children, allowing you to immerse yourself in the heart of the Vanoise National Park’s landscapes.
Starting from Les Lanches, several routes are available:
- Entre le Lac Mountain Hut – 2 days
- Col du Palet Mountain Hut – 3 days
- Plaisance Mountain Hut – 3 days
- Vallaisonnay Loop – 5 to 6 days
Departures are subject to favorable weather conditions.
You are responsible for booking your own meals and overnight stays at the mountain huts.
A mandatory preparation session of approximately 1 hour on the day before departure is required. You will learn how to prepare your donkey (brushing, cleaning its hooves, saddling), how to lead it safely, and will receive all the information about your route. Saddle bags are provided to carry your gear.
