Eric Perrot, the boy from the valley who became a champion!

Éric Perrot, the champion shaped by the mountains of Peisey-Vallandry

In the snow-covered forests of Peisey-Vallandry, a young boy would set off every winter, skis on his feet and his eyes already fixed on the target. The son of two former biathletes – his father, Franck Perrot, a member of the French national team in the 1990s, and his mother, Tone Marit Oftedal, a Norwegian athlete – Éric Perrot was literally born into this world where speed meets precision.

From an early age, he found in the nordic trails of Peisey-Vallandry the perfect place to express himself. Here, in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley, he shaped his style, learned patience and focus, and discovered the joy of regional and then national victories. The club became his second family, and the mountains his school of life.

A meteoric rise

Éric’s talent quickly reached far beyond the borders of his valley. In 2021, he won the title of Junior World Champion in the mixed relay, his first international breakthrough. Soon selected for the French senior national team, he proved himself on the World Cup circuit: strong relay performances, controlled shooting, team podium finishes… before taking a decisive step forward.

In 2025, his childhood dream came true: he won an individual gold medal at the Biathlon World Championships. At just 23 years old, he joined the sport’s elite and established himself as one of the faces of the new generation of French biathlon athletes.

Where it all began

Before the podiums, there were the trails of the Nordic Area of Peisey-Vallandry. It was at the Peisey-Vallandry Ski Club that Éric learned to love effort, the mountains, speed and precision.

A ski club that became a family, where passions are born and champions are raised.
