Fishing in Peisey-Vallandry
At the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, Peisey-Vallandry is an exceptional playground for fishing enthusiasts. Torrents, rivers, valley lakes or high-altitude lakes: every fisherman will find what they are looking for in this unspoilt natural setting.

- In torrents and lakes/reservoirs below 1,000 metres: 8 March to 12 October 2025
- In lakes and spillways above 1,000 metres: 7 June to 12 October 2025

- Lac Marlou – specific regulations
- Adret des Tufs reservoir – specific regulations
- Plan de l'Homme and Lac Saint-Jacques – not stocked
- Lac du Carroley – not stocked with fish
- Lac de Friolin – 2 hours' walk, remarkable lake but not stocked with fish

For those who love high-altitude fishing, the Upper Ponthurin Valley offers a unique experience. Fishing here is private, with a specific permit available for purchase directly in Peisey-Vallandry.

- Lac de la Plagne: fishing permitted only on the western shore
- Lake spillway: powerful and spectacular torrent
- Plan Bertou meanders: calm water and peat bog, ideal for gentler fishing
Trout and char in the heart of the mountains
In these crystal-clear waters, you can fish for brown trout, rainbow trout and, in Lac de la Plagne, the famous Canadian char (or cristivomer).
Buying a fishing licence
Upper Ponthurin Valley
Days authorised: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and public holidays.
Daily rate: €9/day/person (valid for all, subject to holding a valid fishing licence).

- At the Tourist Office reception desks (Peisey Village and resort)
- Online on the Tourist Office website: Day fishing licence
- On site, a 20-minute walk past the lake, at the Entre-le-lac refuge
