Summer Scenes: Concert by the Accornemuses Ensemble

Sunday, August 2: 8:30 PM – Peisey Church

In “D’ACCORNEMUSES”, there is “CORNEMUSES” – bagpipes.
That is what makes the group unique. Each musician has mastered the secrets of this instrument. The ensemble plays “DOEDELZAKS” (the rocking bag), Flemish bagpipes that are replicas of historical instruments immortalized in the paintings of Brueghel.
In “D’ACCORNEMUSES”, there is also “ACCORD” – harmony. The melodies are arranged in thirds and fifths, creating rich harmonies. One voice gives rise to a second, then a third, intertwining with the sound of the organ.
Rooted in a traditional Flemish repertoire, “D’ACCORNEMUSES” remains open to other cultures and sources of inspiration.
